Grant Hill has had a long and extensive injury history, which has plagued his NBA career. He has undergone multiple surgeries and has missed numerous games over the years.
In his first six seasons with the Detroit Pistons, Hill played in 423 of 492 games, a 86% attendance. However, his last season with Detroit was plagued by an ankle injury that required season-ending surgery.
In 2000, Hill signed with the Orlando Magic, but his injury woes continued. He missed 24 games in the 2000-2001 season due to an ankle injury and underwent surgery for the same in 2001.
In the 2002-2003 season, Hill missed 57 games due to a left ankle injury. He underwent surgery for a sports hernia in 2004 and missed 29 games due to an ankle injury in the 2004-2005 season.
In 2007, Hill signed with the Phoenix Suns, but injuries continued to hamper his career. He missed 49 games during the 2009-2010 season, due to a torn meniscus in his right knee. Hill underwent surgery for the same in March 2010.
Despite these injuries, Hill had a successful career and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018.
